Adesso for The Butterfly Project

Adesso will donate 25% of the proceeds from the online sale of all Adesso for the Butterfly Project limited edition collection pieces to The Butterfly Project. The purpose of The Butterfly Project is to raise money to support the Brenda L. Caplan Memorial Scholarship Fund for FORCE, a non-profit organization whose mission is "to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer."

FORCE and its subsidiary projects are very dear to Adesso. At age 27, Adesso owner Samantha Goldstone tested positive for the BRCA 1 genetic mutation, which indicates a very elevated risk of breast and ovarian cancer. Coming from a family with a hereditary history of breast cancer and given her own battle with thyroid cancer at age 21, she decided to address this risk by having a preventive double mastectomy and reconstruction at age 33. While this decision may not be for everyone, she strongly believes that every woman is entitled to all of the facts about this hereditary disease.
