Adesso in the City

The Adesso team hit the road last Friday to head to the Big Apple for the ENK Circuit trade show.  It is always exciting to enjoy a bit of the big city when work calls. Lil’ Hill and I set up the show on Saturday morning and then rushed down to Soho to grab lunch and do some window shopping before heading up to Union Square to get some supplies for our booth.  Our favorites stops along the way: Hampton Chutney Company for dosas, Balthazar Bakery for amazing iced coffees, Topshop (I found an incredible kelly green maxi skirt that has already become a staple in my wardrobe!) and Opening Ceremony (things were on sale…need I say more).  After visiting one of our favorite bead vendors, we had dinner and then finished up our preparations for the trade show.

We have had some other fun adventures after the show and on our lunch breaks (a girl’s gotta eat, right?).  Sunday night we had dinner at my favorite neighborhood restaurant in the East Village, Frank.  Monday I ran out to Mario Batali’s Eataly to grab lunch for the team.  I had planned to be brief, but this Italian foodie was blown away by the incredible offerings of all of the Italian delicacies in the grand and beautiful space.

When I lived in NYC and worked with Slow Food NYC on a program called Harvest Time in Harlem, an after school cooking and food education course for third to fifth graders, we annually took the children to Blue Hill at Stone Barns for a tour of the farm and a picnic at the end of the year.  I wanted the team to enjoy the splendor of the seasonal, local food grown right outside of NYC so we had an amazing meal at Blue Hill NYC. It was out of this world!

Today we finish up the show and tomorrow my little girl meets me in NYC for a few days of exploration through the eyes of a four year old!  Mary Poppins, here we come!

An incredible spread on one of the counters at Mario Batali's Eataly.

Beautiful textures and colors adorned the wall of mushrooms at Eataly.

Marc Jacobs' new bookstore in the West Village has an incredible selection of new and old art, design and fashion books. I picked up a few books for my daughter and an adorable t-shirt for my little dog (oh my!).

Hot as can be in NYC, but I fell in love with this window at Bonpoint's store in the West Village! If only my daughter would wear something other than pink!
